1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing the Wood & Wit store and placing an order, you accept these Terms of Service in full. If you do not accept them, please do not use our store.
CHESS LABS LIMITED may amend these terms at any time. The terms that apply to your order are those in force at the moment you place it.
2. The store
Wood & Wit is a brand operated by CHESS LABS LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales under company number [[COMPANY_NUMBER]], with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.
We specialise in chess: boards, pieces, cased sets, clocks, backgammon and related accessories.

3. Customer account
To place an order you may create an account or check out as a guest. If you create an account you are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential. Any activity carried out from your account is your responsibility.
CHESS LABS LIMITED may suspend or delete any account used fraudulently or in breach of these terms.
4. Products and availability
Products are offered subject to availability. Product photographs are illustrative and may vary slightly depending on your screen settings. Because our sets are made from solid wood, natural variations in grain, figure and colour are inherent to the material and are not defects.
5. Prices and payment
Prices are shown in the currency selected on the store and include any taxes applicable at the point of sale, unless stated otherwise at checkout. Import duties and taxes levied by the destination country are not included — see our Shipping Policy.
Payment is taken at the time the order is placed, through the secure payment methods offered at checkout. Your order is confirmed only once payment has been authorised.
6. Orders
An order is formed when you complete checkout and receive our confirmation email. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order in the event of a pricing error, suspected fraud, or a dispute relating to a previous order. In that case any sum already paid is refunded in full.
7. Delivery
Delivery terms, times and conditions are set out in our Shipping Policy, which forms part of these terms.
8. Right to cancel
If you are a consumer, you may have a statutory right to cancel your order without giving a reason. In the United Kingdom that period is 14 days from delivery. Equivalent rights exist in other jurisdictions and apply to you where your local law provides them.
In addition to any statutory right, we offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee as described in our Refund Policy.
Personalised or custom-engraved items are made to your specification and, where your local law permits, are excluded from the right to cancel once production has started.
9. Warranties
All products are covered by the statutory guarantees applicable in your country of residence, including the right to goods that are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
In addition, digital chess clocks sold by Wood & Wit carry a 10-year commercial warranty against manufacturing defects, running from the date of delivery. This commercial warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship in normal domestic use. It does not cover wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse, or damage caused by moisture, heat or batteries left in the device. It is offered in addition to, and does not restrict, your statutory rights.
10. Intellectual property
All content on this store — texts, photographs, logos, graphics and the Wood & Wit name — is protected by intellectual property law and remains the property of CHESS LABS LIMITED or its licensors. Any reproduction or use without prior written consent is prohibited.
11. Liability
CHESS LABS LIMITED is liable for foreseeable loss caused by its breach of these terms. We are not liable for loss that is not foreseeable, nor for business losses. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Personal data
Personal data collected when you place an order is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You have rights of access, correction, deletion and portability over your data; to exercise them, contact support@woodandwit.com.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the law of your country of residence, which continue to apply. You may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.
